      <image:title>UX - Outcomes and Learnings</image:title>
<image:caption>- Evaluating the quality of inputs within two headset devices, setting baseline metrics to track the quality of new gestures, interaction models, and UI changes, and collecting data on KPIs within a team of four researchers was no easy feat. Setting expectations amongst researchers seemed straightforward, but became more nuanced as our unique moderation styles were expressed. - After our dry-run of Phase 1, I suggested major adjustments to the protocol, to which the client agreed. Our adjustments decreased moderator stress and mental load and allowed us to collect data with clarity and precision. - Multi-week in-lab sessions require support in all forms, especially emotionally, physically, and mentally. Taking breaks between sessions and between phases was imperative for mental clarity. - Mixed methods research can be both potent and arduous. Our team helped validate many assumptions and previous learnings with the client team. However, more efficient moderation methods should be considered for hardware research.</image:caption>

      <image:title>UX - My Research Process</image:title>
<image:caption>1. Assess Semiconductor Competitive Landscape I started by shadowing the designers’ and content strategist’s inquiry on our client’s competitors. Consequently, I adjusted the round one research plan to better fit the project’s constraints. 2. Conduct Round One Research (IDIs) To get alignment on our client’s ongoing web strategy and priorities, I first planned 13 IDIs for 60-minutes with B2B business decision makers within the IoT, Networking, and Infrastructure segments. I tested several navigation reorganization options and uncovered insights for category refinement. 3. Conduct Round Two Research (IDIs) Following the client strategy workshop, I planned 10 IDIs for 60-minutes with Internet of Things Solutions decision makers. Our objectives were to collect feedback from users on their IoT Solutions web experiences and to understand where navigation and narrative could be improved. 4. Conduct Round Three Research (Unmoderated Usability Testing) After testing and iterating on page concepts, the team required further clarification on two primary navigation design explorations. We explored user expectations and reactions to top-level navigation, product categorization, industry jargon, and new page concepts. This unmoderated study was conducted using Dscout Express its data was later analyzed using NotebookLM as a thought partner.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I helped move the needle by being a research advocate and thought leader, taking a holistic view with the client’s requests, and providing evidence and actionable recommendations for each design phase. Each round of research was followed by a Topline Insights Report created in Figma alongside video highlight clips, and was presented to the client teams. Round one research insights were used as an anchor point for the design strategy workshop and the following rounds were used as key artifacts for the impending brand launch. <image:title>UX - My Research Process</image:title>
<image:caption>1. Lead Research Activities for IDIs: Worked within a team of an interaction designer, research director, and project manager to schedule and complete 25 in-depth interviews for one hour each across 3 pre-defined user groups (segmented by ad spend and product usage). 2. Analyze Data and Produce Final Report: Synthesized interview notes into a Topline Insights Report one day after the conclusion of sessions. Continued synthesizing insights into a final report, including user group summary slides, video highlight clips, strategic insights, and recommendations. 3. Collaborate with the Interaction Designer to Create Maturity Journey Map: Expanded the four user groupings into one cyclical maturity journey map, highlighting key journey phases, actions, emotions, triggers impacting movement from one phase to another, and recommendations per phase.</image:caption>

      <image:title>UX - Impact and Outcomes</image:title>
<image:caption>Key Finding: The journey was not linear - it was cyclical. People moved back and forth between segments depending on life circumstances, business performance, sales, and especially bandwidth (many small business owners were sole proprietors). Other Emergent Themes: Small business owners struggled with complex advertising tools, had negative experiences when outsourcing work to agencies, and required trial and error when running effective ads. Outcome: I delivered a final report and collaborated with an interaction designer to visualize the journey and create artifacts. We delivered a high-polish, printable, evergreen journey map, persona cards, and a deck for the team to use as a source of truth.</image:caption>

      <image:title>UX - Reflections</image:title>
<image:caption>This research project pushed me get creative when collaborating with designers and researchers. I not only continued to advocate for the user, but I was tasked with translating their motivations and needs into a visual artefact. Seeing their journeys as cyclical, not linear, opened new doorways for better communicating their struggles as users traversed through phases. My team and I learned how to speak the same language and tell the right story through meticulous design and accurate research.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Art - Superbloom Painting</image:title>
<image:caption>acrylic, modeling paste, gloss gel medium on framed canvas “superbloom” is the name of this piece and my upcoming poetry book. i have been enthralled by chrysanthemums for several years, having some tattooed on my forearm. they represent well-being, friendship, celebration, and healing. they’re a beautiful reminder of my east asian roots and have been used as a medicinal panacea for centuries. i’d like to think that whenever one sees chrysanthemums, they’re reminded of what comes after the grief has passed. the salve that cradles us and allows us to bloom into our next evolution. the more i look at “superbloom,” the more i see all of me encapsulated in canvas form. i’m a gemini sun, leo moon, pisces rising. duality runs in my veins and informs what i do and how i see the world. i thrive in the limelight, but i’m also painstakingly sensitive. “superbloom” is all of the above— feminine and masculine, bright white and pure black, with a river of textured blossoms running outwardly from it. it’s the light we wish to share, it’s the dark we are burdened to hold, it’s the compromise of both as equally important when we navigate this world.</image:caption>
